Care Notes:

Calathea Helen Kennedy is soft, elegant, and quietly stunning with elongated leaves and subtle striping that feels refined rather than loud. Like all Calatheas, she prefers consistency and a calm environment. This isn’t a “set it and forget it” plant, but it is incredibly rewarding once you understand her preferences.

She loves evenly moist soil (not wet), higher humidity, and indirect light that mimics a forest understory. If she’s happy, she’ll reward you with steady growth and healthy, unfurling leaves.

Light & Placement Tips

  • Bright, indirect light is ideal

  • Too much sun can fade or scorch leaves

  • Low light = slower growth

Bathrooms and kitchens with good light are often perfect spots.

Watering Tips

Keep soil lightly moist, never soggy.
Water when the top inch of soil feels dry.

Filtered or distilled water helps prevent crispy edges.

Common Overwatering Symptoms

  • Yellowing leaves

  • Soft stems

  • Moldy or sour-smelling soil

Common Underwatering Symptoms

  • Curling leaves

  • Crispy brown edges

  • Leaves staying tightly folded

Bloom Saloon Tips

Calatheas don’t want drama. Keep watering steady, humidity moderate, and lighting gentle. They’ll stay very chill.
